If you’re a holistic health practitioner-like a Naturopathic Doctor, Ayurveda Practitioner, Acupuncturist, or Functional Medicine Doctor, you’ve probably felt the pressure to be constantly churning out content on social media. It can feel like the only way to keep your audience engaged and get people to sign up for your offerings. But here’s the truth: you don’t need to spend all day posting to make sales. You can create organic content that works for you—without burning yourself out.

And that organic content can send people to your page, where your optimized profile can do some of the sales work for you!

Here are 4 key things every holistic health practitioner needs on their Instagram profile to make sales without feeling like social media is taking over their life:

1️⃣ Pin a Post with Clear Steps for How to Work with You

Stop making your audience search for that one post where you finally mentioned how they can work with you. A pinned post acts like a virtual billboard, showing up at the top of your profile every time someone visits. It should clearly outline who you help, how to get started with you, and any key offerings.

Think of this post as your homepage—a quick, no-fluff guide for anyone curious about your services. When someone lands on your profile, they shouldn’t have to dig around for info. Make it easy. People are busy; give them what they need in one click.

2️⃣ Use Story Highlights to Explain Who You Are & Why You’re Qualified

You’ve got a story, expertise, and experience—but Instagram’s character limits can make it tough to share all the details in just one post. Enter: Story Highlights. This is where you can dive deeper into your journey, your qualifications, and why you’re the best fit for the job.

If someone is scrolling through your highlights, they’re already interested in learning more. Help them feel confident in you by showcasing things like:

  • Your background and how you got started
  • Where you studied or trained
  • Years of experience or notable milestones
  • Client transformations (show, not tell)

Your highlights are a living, breathing resume, showing people they can trust you with their health and well-being.

3️⃣ Showcase Social Proof (In Your Bio, Highlights, and Pinned Post)

People have become pros at spotting scams, and they’re tired of being misled. Social proof—whether it’s client testimonials, success stories, or even something as simple as “as featured in”—can make all the difference.

Include social proof wherever possible: in your bio, your story highlights, and even your pinned post. Testimonials from happy clients or a screenshot of someone gushing about how your approach changed their life? Gold.

By showing potential clients that you’ve delivered results for others, you help build trust (and trust is what ultimately gets people to say ‘yes’ to working with you).

4️⃣ Craft a Bio That’s Clear and Unique

Here’s a little secret: everyone is talking about a root-cause approach. And while that’s amazing, it’s not necessarily a differentiator anymore. You need to stand out in a sea of sameness.

Your bio should speak directly to your ideal client. Make it crystal clear who you are, who you help, and what someone needs to do to work with you. Be as specific as possible—try sharing your specialty, the location of your practice, and your years in business.

At the end of the day, people want to work with someone they trust, and your bio is your first chance to establish that.

5️⃣ (BONUS) Be Clear on What Makes You the Only Person They Want to Work With

In a world filled with similar offerings, how do you rise above the noise? By letting your personality and unique perspective shine through your profile.

Do you have a fresh take on health that others aren’t talking about? Do your captions bring a playful, artistic flair? Maybe you’re known for using humor in an industry that can often feel too serious. Whatever it is that makes you, you—let that be front and center.

When your personality is woven throughout your content, it creates a magnetic pull. People will feel drawn to you because they see you as relatable, approachable, and exactly the kind of practitioner they’ve been searching for.

By making these small yet powerful tweaks to your Instagram profile, you can create a space that feels like an extension of your practice—one that attracts the right clients and makes them eager to work with you, all while giving you more time back in your day.
