Hands up if you think holistic practitioners are the best πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈπŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ

Me too!

Mainly because they lead in business with their hearts first.

The people I’ve personally met in this space care so deeply about their community, making this world a better place, and championing change.

Someone who is an exceptional example of this is this month’s guest Β – Paula Crossfield, Vedic astrologer and Business Coach (you may have seen her @weaveyourbliss).

If you’re feeling challenged lately by the strong energy of Saturn, you are not going to want to miss this read.

If something is in (parentheses), it’s added in by me! 😊

πŸ—£ Rachel: Paula, I’m excited to dive into money karma and Saturn for biz with you! What do a lot of people get wrong about Saturn and money karma?

πŸ’« Paula: Thanks for inviting me to share! Saturn is the planet of delay and disappointment – and I think we often resign ourselves to being stuck in our journey with money.

Like if we’ve always been at a certain level of earning, that we have to stay there.

What I’ve found with myself and over a hundred clients at this point is that things are usually more malleable than we think, that we can use certain remedies, most of them directed at Saturn, like clarifying our finances, chanting or doing a spiritual practice, literally clearing out spaces in our house – this can start to shift the outcomes we see in our money coming in.

I’ve seen this in my own life – and as someone who appreciates ayurveda, you understand that what we put our prana into gets richer and expands.

πŸ—£ Rachel: Do you think money karma uniquely impacts entrepreneurs?

πŸ’« Paula: No way! We all have a karmic map, aka a birth chart showing what our tendencies are for saving, earning and success.

I believe entrepreneurship is just a unique way to express and work through our karmas, and has the potential to be a bigger portal for earning, versus a job where the salary is set.

πŸ—£ Rachel: Is there a good place to look at our own charts to get a feel for where most of our challenges and karma might arise within our business?

πŸ’« Paula: The 7th house is the house of entrepreneurship, and the 1st house is the place of the personality.

If both are strong you will likely have a strong ability to lead and run a business.

We also look at the moon’s placement in vedic astrology as it is central for our emotional health, and when afflicted (when the moon is aspected or with Saturn, Mars or the nodes, you are born on a new moon, or the moon is alone in the sky especially) you might have to do more work to stabilize your emotions.

(excuse me while I immediately check my chartπŸ“)

πŸ—£ Rachel: Why does it feel like our business is often amplifying and bringing back up past karmas we thought we worked through? And are we stuck in this loop, or is the goal to break free of it?

πŸ’« Paula: Good question. I think relationships and money are two of the toughest things we humans have to navigate, and that they are particularly where we feel our karmas the most.

Many times spirit-led business owners have spent time refining their practices, but then when we bring them into the material world the stakes go up and we’re tested at new levels.

The good news is that it is all in service of us becoming our highest self. That doesn’t always feel good in the moment!

But if we can remember that there is always something bigger at play, and that we can tap into that through our intuition, tools like astrology and just by resting, that always helps me remain calm.

πŸ—£ Rachel: One of the things I love most about you is how practical your recommendations always are. Can you share 3 things we can do to work with Saturn, especially if we’re feeling like it’s a particularly challenging chapter in our work?

πŸ’« Paula: Thanks for saying that! You can take the girl out of the midwest, but you can’t take the midwest out of the girl πŸ˜‰

(cheers for Midwest girlies πŸ™Œ)

I approach Saturn in these ways: I like to make what I call, for a lack of creativity, a “Saturn list” – this is all the things I’ve been avoiding doing, and I just do at least one thing every Saturday.

I also recommend deep cleaning spaces – it could even be your junk drawer – as this starts to move the prana, and get things that are stuck moving.

If you know you are Saturn afflicted right now, or feel stuck or disappointed about something right now, you can also give up something or add a spiritual practice every Saturday for as many weeks as you are old plus one.

This is a great remedy because it meets that energy of disappointment head on and transmutes it.

(ps. Saturday is the day of Saturn if you’re new to astrology)

πŸ—£ Rachel: Okay, now for the fun questions! What’s your favorite thing to grow on your farm?

πŸ’« Paula: We just harvested corn and I spent last night preparing it for the freezer, and made blueberry jam – so I have to say these two are my favorite. Basically anything that we love that is expensive if you buy it (like fennel) brings a lot of satisfaction!

πŸ—£ Rachel: What’s your favorite place in the world and why?

πŸ’« Paula: This is hard because I have a few. One is south India, because the food is delicious and people are just so nice. I’ve never been anywhere with so many people who wanted to help and smiled from their hearts! I also love France, I’ve spent a lot of time there in my life and love French culture, especially the south of France.

πŸ—£ Rachel: Thing you’re most excited about in your own business right now?

πŸ’« Paula: I’m really excited that I’ve started writing my book again, so I can help to support spirit-led entrepreneurs to build thriving incomes in an even bigger way. (umm, same! can’t wait to read this!)

I’m working on a fun project to gather research on how much we’re giving back to causes as a community, so feel free to join my mailing list if you want to learn more about that!
