My birthday is more than 2 months away, but I am already sending Jack things on my “wish list”?.
So far, I’ve got my eye on these hiking boots (who knew ON had such a cute option) for my trip to Banff and the book Made for Living by Amber Lewis.
When I found Amber Lewis on Pinterest a few years ago, I KNEW I finally found my style.
I’ve always loved natural materials, lots of greenery (I am a crazy houseplant lady…), and fun pops of color. It explains why this project of hers is my favorite.
And while I used to never care that much about interior design, I’ve come to realize how much I gravitate toward spaces that are thoughtfully pulled together. Especially when working from home.
In many ways, a website is a lot like a home?.
The way you style yourself via clothes and accessories is what people see when they meet you out in the world (think of this like social media).
But the REAL ones – the people most interested and/or close to you – get to see the style of your home (aka your website).
And although the design is a big component of how people feel while they’re on your site, your copy is what they came for.
Small copy tweaks can do wonders for engagement. Let’s take a peek at some examples.

Bonus Tip: Read all of your copy out loud! If it sounds like a robot wrote it instead of your witty, genius self…edit it until it sounds like you.
Don’t let this overwhelm you.
Before redoing your entire website right this minute, start practicing with small tweaks to your social content first.
Don’t be discouraged, either!
I look back at old copy and cringe at myself all. the. time.
It’s good news. It means we’re growing!
